Women's Retreat - Session 2

We spent an eventful evening last night in search of the popcorn I like. My friend Lisa told me that I'm a "popcorn elitist". I own that. I really like Homestyle popcorn. What can I say?

Albertson's happens to carry that particular flavor. I drove my lovely Subaru on this trip and was purposely taking turns very sharply and making the ladies in the back ram into each other. Hee hee! It was quite fun.

We ended up wandering down the aisles looking for popcorn and we ended up passing it two or three times. The funniest part, to me, was that we were talking the whole time about how we were having victory in the area of weight loss. Where were we in the end? The candy aisle. we were all salivating over the different choices. Praise God for Carol who decided to be the first to leave and go to the check out stand. Wheew! I almost bought a Kit Kat. ;-)

We heckled each other quite a bit and, back at the hotel, we ended up talking until about 12:15 am. It was so good to relax and have fun. We laughed so hard and passed around our snacks. In the end, tiredness won us over and we turned in.

I had decided to take a shower that night because I didn't want to have to wake up early and rush.

What a fun evening!

And what a TIRED morning. We all rolled out of bed, sandy-eyed, and had breakfast at the buffet. After our sound check, we stood and talked with some of the wonderful ladies who came to the retreat. I was such a blessing. One of my favorite sounds in the world is the babble of a hundred women laughing, conversing, and just being women. It was very cool.

And to top it off, I got to lead worship for these fine ladies. I pulled an old song out of the archives. We got another recording, we'll see how that turns out. Until then, you can check out the lyrics here.

FAITHFUL FATHER
Father I love the way you hold me close
And say my name
I know that when my life is through
My heart will find its home in You

This is my song of praise to You
For who You are and all that You do
From the moment my life began
You have been faithful

Father, I can't explain this kind of love
This kind of grace
I know that I still break Your heart
And yet You run to welcome me

This is my song of praise to You
For who You are and all that You do
From the moment my life began
You have been faithful
You will be faithful
Forever faithful
Father

Isn't it cool how a retreat gives us the opportunity to let our hair down and be silly? That's what makes a getaway so special...being with girlfriends and praising the Lord!
Keep up the good work!
